Sermon Theme: The Way the Truth and the Life
Sermon Text: Luke 5:1-13
In this passage of scripture Jesus has finished preaching to a crowd of people and He is about to display the power of God to Peter and his fisherman partners in a way that they have never experienced before. Jesus wanted to prove to Peter that He is indeed the Way, The Truth and the Life. Jesus is the way out of frustration, the way out of lack, the way out of poverty. When Jesus prompted the miracle of the “big catch” of fish before Peter He was showing him that He is the way to prosperity, fruitfulness, success and fulfilment.
Jesus is the access to God’s highway, to the place of destiny, fulfilment, success, joy. Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of our destinies…He gets us to a place of a hope and a future. We need to leave our way(s) and get into the Way!
