Sermon Theme: Voyage of Hope
Sermon Text: James 2:14, Romans 5:4
The journey of hope is predicated on the promise(s) of God. And the Holy Spirit is a voyaging vessel on this voyage. It is important that we find the promises of God and incorporate them into our lives because that is where we find our hope. That is where we find our purpose.
If we do not find the promises of God for our lives and manifest them we end up living a mediocre life. To live a mediocre life is to live like a vulture – always eating left overs. You never really fully enjoy the benefits and privileges of being a child of God that way. Be an eagle…not a vulture.
Our hope must be anchored in the word of God so that we do not waiver or give up during a storm. There is a divine purpose for storms. God can use storms to build character in us that wouldn’t otherwise come to us naturally.
